Japan-Suki : Who are we ?
My name is LE NY Clement, I'm French and software engineer by training. My passion for Japan led me to create this site with a simple goal: to give you all the tools you need to plan your own trip to Japan, drawing from real experiences and practical advice.
Born in 1985, my love for Japan began in childhood when the first anime arrived in France. That early introduction to Japanese culture sparked my curiosity for this multifaceted country.
At 24, my first trip to Japan solidified this passion. I was equally captivated by the traditional culture, with its temples and rituals, and by the vibrant energy of its big cities and pop culture.
A few years later, I had the privilege of serving as the volunteer president of the Bretagne-Japon association (Rennes in France) for nearly seven years. This organization promotes Japanese culture in France through language classes, traditional workshops, and cultural events.
During that time, I organized numerous cultural activities, including "Nihon Deiz", which aimed to welcome Japanese visitors to Rennes, helping them discover French culture while sharing their own traditions with the French public.
In 2021, inspired by this spirit of cultural exchange, I decided to launch Japan Suki, a small business dedicated to helping people discover Japan. The project was born from a desire to offer personalized services and practical resources to guide travelers in preparing their Japanese adventure.
My Vision for Japan-Suki
An Authentic Experience
All the articles on "Japan Suki" come directly from my own experiences during trips to Japan.
Helping You Travel
Unlike other travel sites, I strive to provide a detailed, well-organized approach tailored to the expectations of all travelers.
Quality Content
I focus on clarity and relevance, with an emphasis on the history, culture, and practical aspects of the places you'll visit.
My Goals: A Quality Site, For and With You
"Japan Suki" is more than just a blog. My ambition is to create a go-to platform for travelers seeking an authentic immersion in Japan while avoiding the traps of mass tourism. I work hard to update the content regularly, considering feedback from readers to keep the information current and useful.
To ensure a pleasant browsing experience, I’ve chosen not to clutter the site with intrusive ads. Instead, I prioritize selected affiliate links based on my own recommendations, such as for the JR Pass, internet access, and bank cards suitable for stress-free travel in Japan.
In addition, I’ve launched an online store offering Japan-related products. The store also serves as a key revenue source, allowing me to continue developing and maintaining the site without overwhelming ads.
Current and Future Projects: Gathering and Personalizing
An associative intranet
One of my personal goals is to create a free intranet dedicated to Japanese associations. This project, integrated into "Japan Suki", aims to bring together as many associations with an interest in Japan as possible.
By creating a shared space, we can make it easier to access cultural events, foster synergies between associations, and strengthen ties between France and Japan.
A Travel Builder
Another major project I’m working on is developing a travel builder. The idea is to offer personalized itineraries, based not only on my experiences but also those of other travelers.
These travel outlines, shared on "Japan Suki", can serve as inspiration or a foundation for crafting the ideal trip whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned Japan traveler.
